EDUCATIONAL YOUTH SUMMIT

``For The Advancement Of Native American Youth``

Our Story 2003 - Present

For almost 20 years NABI has been known for being the largest and most prestigious all Native American Basketball tournament in North America serving high school age youth!  Since our inception in 2003 our supporters include the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Nike N7, many Tribes and major corporations across the U.S.

Over 1300 student athletes compete in the NABI basketball invitational sporting new Nike uniforms and play  400+ games in five days. To make it to the Championship games is to play on a pro-basketball court that includes all the bells and whistles in front of cheering fans and live streamed to thousands across Indian Country through the new  NABI Network platform. To win- is to win the prestigious solid bronze NABI Championship trophy created by world re-known Native American Artist Dave Montour, and proudly bring it back to the team’s community.

BUT NABI is much more than basketball!!

NABI believes using the love and sport of basketball is the perfect tool to unite thousands of Native/Indigenous youth and inspire them to continue to develop and play the sport of basketball, and to  use their talents and skills to pursue higher education while striving to become tomorrow’s leaders.

Through our week-long program our student athletes are exposed to many educational opportunities to include the NABI College & Career Fair, NABI Educational Youth Summit, and our NABI College Scholarship Fund.

We are proud that our mission has truly come full circle and our NABI Alumni continue to be an instrumental important aspect of our Educational Youth Summit by sharing their love of the game, the importance of participating in sports, their higher education journeys, and stories of their struggles and successes to inspire our young athletes. Some NABI Alumni have gone on to college basketball, WNBA, and professional careers in the fields of  law, medicine, community services and sports marketing to name a few.

Education is the key for our Native youth to succeed!

An education can never be taken away. In addition, it has been proven education breaks the cycles of poverty, chemical dependency, and lowers teen suicide rates. All of which run rampant on our tribal lands.

What are our future plans?

Coming in 2022 NABI will be launching our NABI Speakers’ Bureau. The Speakers’ Bureau will represent our NABI Alumni and Native American professionals who will speak at youth events and/or programs across Indian Country.  We will also be organizing an annual NABI 360 all Native adult tournament to encourage our thousands of NABI Alumni to get involved and support our youth and programs.

Lastly, our annual  NABI Golf Classic fundraiser will now expand to utilize two golf courses. All proceeds from above will be used to support NABI programs and our NABI College Scholarship Fund.

NABI has a lot more work to do, but “we” are making a difference through our quality programs and will continue to do so with your continued support.

Thank you, and welcome to NABI Nation!
